Tips to reduce your drinking

With the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, it is a stressful time for many people with many aspects of our daily lives changing rapidly. Some of us may turn to alcohol for short-term stress relief or because of boredom, but rather than helping us cope, alcohol can make us feel more stressed and anxious.

Health experts recommend that adults:

  • Drink no more than two standard drinks on any day to remain at low-risk of alcohol-related disease or injury over the lifetime.
  • Drink no more than four standard drinks on a single occasion reduces the risk of alcohol-related injury arising from that occasion.1
