Showcasing Homesharing at One2One

Homeshare is an approach to providing live in support and companionship, in the most natural of settings, home. As all of us are unique, so is each Homesharing role.

A great example of Homeshare for One2One has been seen in Sheryl who lives with her support Serena. One2One has known Sheryl for over 4 years and the growth and change, the confidence and independence, the humour and joy seen over the years goes to show much of a difference Serena has made to Sheryl’s life and how well homesharing has worked as the right support for Sheryl.

“Meeting Serena has changed my life in a big positive way. She is a wonderfully caring person who not only helps me in my everyday life but is helping me reach my main goal of independence and to be able to live on my own in my own house one day” – Sheryl

You can find out firsthand how Homesharing works for Sheryl and Serena by watching their story in One2One’s recently published video.

The role of a homesharer suits individuals or couples with great life skills and experience. One2One pays successful homesharers a tax-free subsidy as a contribution towards the homesharer’s expenses and efforts in sharing a life with our consumer. The intent is to develop a long-term working relationship between the homesharer and One2One. If you are interested to learn more about our Homesharer role, check out our job description.

Access on Demand: Streaming TV Services

Curtin University invites you to participate in a survey about the use of Video on Demand sites by people with disabilities, or people who use accessibility features. This relatively new way of accessing television is a rapidly growing part of the media environment, and they hope to gather diverse perspectives on how accessible the different services offered are.

They are currently seeking participants with disabilities, who live with people with disabilities, or who use accessibility features for other reasons, to complete a brief survey on their experience of video on demand television.
