One2One has developed a COVID-19 Safety Plan in line with the WA Govt Safety Guidelines (see attached Certificate).

If you would like to read the full plan please contact or call Luka Donald-Johnson at the office on 6278 3900.

COVID-19 Impact on DSP and Carer Payment Recipients

The Department of Social Services has created a fact sheet that aims to answer any questions that Disability Support Pension and Carer Payment recipients may have around the COVID-19 pandemic.

It includes details around the impact of JobKeeper and other coronavirus supplements from the Government.

Read the fact sheet here for more information and other contact details.

Australian Red Cross: COVID CONNECT

The Australian Red Cross has a new service called COVID CONNECT. It’s a free social phone call to provide support and community connection to adults who are feeling socially isolated as a result of COVID-19.

Through a one-off or regular phone call, volunteers and clients will have a friendly chat to help maintain or improve social connection and reduce the stress of isolation until normal patterns of social interaction can be restored.

You can register here.

See the attached flyer here for more information.

Coronavirus Webpage for People with a Disability

The Australian Government Department of Health has launched a new webpage providing coronavirus information for people with disability.

The webpage provides advice on how to protect yourself from coronavirus and includes a range of services and support materials on coronavirus for people with disability.

The Department of Health will continue to add resources as they are developed.

Befriend: Helping community members to access online groups

The Befriend staff team have put together a simple step-by-step guide to help members of the community to find and join online groups. The digital space where online groups interact is just another community context in which relationships can be nurtured, and helping others to use technology as a means of cultivating friendships with others is a key part of support.

This resource may be something you wish to circulate within your own networks or pass onto to someone you know who may benefit from exploring online social gatherings, not just in the short-term, but going forward.

Consumer Protection: COVID-19

The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has created disruption and confusion in our community. Holidaymakers have had to cancel trips and may be unsure when they can reschedule depending on the destination. Ticketed events have been cancelled and people have had to postpone weddings. Many tenants cannot afford to pay rent.

Western Australians have contacted Consumer Protection with numerous enquiries. To help, a list of COVID-19 Coronavirus Consumer Protection Frequently Asked Questions has been created and is being regularly updated.

Some topics included are:

  • Travel
  • Shopping
  • Tenancy
  • Pets
  • Sports and gym memberships
  • Food delivery services

Consumer Protection encourages the WA community to read this helpful information for the latest updates and we ask you to help us spread the word through your networks and via your existing communication channels
